Welcome to the K2 Games Website!

K2 Games creates and licenses Board and Card Game Designs for young and mature players. As such we focus on the Design aspect of our games all the while looking for partners such as third-party publishing companies to take our mature prototypes to final design. At times we also act as a publisher and have self-published games such as our card game Quest Adventure Cards™. As previously mentioned, we focus on design for mature players, all the while encouraging younger players (9+ years of age) to learn through coaching by family members, the details on how to play our games. We are therefore focused on Family-Friendly games which are exciting for both adults and kids alike. There is nothing more inspiring than watching an older brother and his friends playing an epic game such as TradeWorlds such that future players be entranced by the gaming experience. At K2 Games we want to provide such cherished and memorable moments for the players in addition to any spectators!

Welcome to our website and we hope that you will be able to find information concerning our games and the projects that have yet to been released!

Meet The Collaborators

Meet Kristopher, a talented game designer with a passion for creating immersive and engaging gaming experiences. With over a decade of experience in the industry, Kristopher has worked on a wide variety of tabletop games.

Kristopher understands that great game design requires a balance between creativity and technical expertise. He takes the time to understand the needs and expectations of his target audience and uses his knowledge of game mechanics to create games that are both challenging and rewarding.

After several years of freelancing in the field of Integration, Kristopher decided that he wanted a change in his career and began his journey as an independent game designer when he designed his very first game Quest Adventure Cards™. This was his first project and from that point onwards, he was bitten by the game design bug!

Kristopher's interest in game design continued to grow as he gained more experience with different mechanics and genres of games. His researching into the field of game design led him to gain the technical skills necessary to bring his ideas to life. And he continues to learn more about tabletop games and game mechanics to better hone his design skills which allow him to make games that are even more emmersive.

In addition to his technical skills, Kristopher is also an excellent communicator and collaborator. He understands the importance of working closely with his team members and stakeholders to ensure that their vision is translated into the final product. His ability to work in a team and his positive attitude make him a valuable asset to any game development project.

Introducing Stan, an experienced operations manager with over 10 years of experience in the TableTop Industry. He has fulfilled several Kickstarters via his company Outer Limit Games, inc. and is located in the USA.

Previously, Stan worked as a school teacher who taught STEM to young and impressionable minds. He has a deep understanding of what is needed to help nurture students in math and science and had taught for more than 25 years before retiring from his profession.

Outer Limit Games, inc. was responsible for publishing TradeWorlds: Exterra Edition and was handled by Stan after the passing of his son Mike. During such an emotional and trying time, Stan was responsible for obtaining and handling of quotes from Chinese Manufacturers in order to bring TradeWorlds to a final product after a successful Kickstarter. The process of getting quotes was very challenging due to the fact that there were several tiers of rewards and the need to see who would produce the finest final product. The complexity of the quoting process meant that it took a couple months before finally Stan could decided on the right Manufacturer for our game.

Stan is a natural problem solver and enjoys taking on challenges. In addition to quotations, Stan was responsible for handling Logistics during the Pandemic; where the costs of shipping had skyrocketed due to all of the steps required to ensure the safety and health of all parties during that very difficult time. As such, Stan had to find novel routes to ship the games by container over to the two fulfillment warehouses Fulfillrite in the USA and Spiral Galaxy in the UK.

But this was not the only challenge for our operations manager... No he also had to deal with obtaining the VAT Tax Number for the UK and European Union (EU). This process took three tries and lasted about one year before finally getting this number required for the fulfillment of both UK and EU Backers. Stan had to deal with numerous agents over the phone, because the VAT Tax Number had to be issued by the HMRC in the UK. In the end we got the number after a long and complexe process of calling for updates and making sure that our application was being handled properly.

Geof Isherwood, born on December 4 1960, is a renowned comic book artist celebrated for his unparalleled contributions to the world of sequential storytelling. With an innate talent for visual narrative and a keen eye for detail, Geof has left an indelible mark on the comic book industry.

Hailing from Quantico, Virginia, Geof's journey into the world of comics began at a young age, fueled by a passion for both art and storytelling. His formal education in Fine Arts at Concordia University provided him with the foundational skills, but it was his distinctive style and innovative approach that set him apart.

Geof rose to prominence with his groundbreaking work on various comic series such as Swords of the Swashbucklers, Conan the King, The 'Nam, Conan the Barbarian, Suicide Squad, Dr. Strange and Namor, along with numerous short runs and one-offs on titles such as Spider-Man and Thor, where his dynamic compositions and expressive character designs captivated readers and critics alike. His collaboration with other comic contributors has resulted in a number of popular comic book series that are iconic and still celebrated by fans today.

It was a great honor to work with Geof in creating the art for Quest Adventure Cards™, a process that took approximately 2-Months. As per the style of the game, we agreed on a style with more "inking" that would give Quest Adventure Cards™ a medieval feel to the hand-drawn art that would be scanned and colored digitally. Quest Adventure Cards™ may not have been a great sales success ... But we were never the less proud of all the effort, creativity and design put into this first game design.

With a career spanning over four decades, Geof remains an influential force in the comic book industry. His dedication to storytelling, coupled with his artistic brilliance, ensures that his legacy continues to thrive, inspiring both seasoned professionals and emerging artists to push the boundaries of the medium.

Meet Charles Vinh, a versatile and visionary artist who has seamlessly mastered every artistic medium, transcending traditional boundaries and embracing the digital realm with unparalleled skill. Born with a natural inclination for creativity, Charles' journey as an artist began at a young age, fueled by an insatiable curiosity to explore various forms of expression.

His traditional artistry, characterized by exquisite brushstrokes and a profound understanding of color theory, garnered early recognition. Charles' ability to breathe life into canvases earned him accolades in local galleries, setting the stage for a career marked by innovation and diversity.

Embracing the technological wave, Charles seamlessly transitioned into the digital art landscape, where he harnessed the power of pixels to create immersive, boundary-defying masterpieces. His digital creations captivate audiences with a blend of intricate details, vibrant hues, and a touch of surrealism that transports viewers into fantastical worlds.

With over twenty (20) years of experience as being highly perfectionist and very versatile, Charles was the illustrator for TradeWorlds: Exterra Edition. Charles masterfully produced incredibly detailled Sci-Fi artistry helping to build the feel for a fictitious World of the Exterras, a race living on a distant planet in some far-away galaxy. Charles produced almost one-hundred unique fully colored digital illustration for the game. His art was the focal point of the design given that the appearance of the game and it's illustration was so compelling many people were interested primarily in the art even though TradeWorlds is an epic game with several expansions that have been designed and sold all around the World.

Charles has been the recipient of the First Prize, the People's Choice Awards and Guest Artist Award of the Canadian Society of Watercolor. In addition, he has also won First Prize at Artflight, a contest held by the Canadian Museum of Aviation.

Madison Schofield, widely renown as Madschofield, is a trailblazing business entrepreneur who has left an indelible mark in the world of digital illustration. With almost 150,000 Followers on Instagram, Mads focuses on illustrating Bookish art for readers of all ages who enjoy Fantasy Romance Novels. Her artistic skills married with her business savvy have led to her founding her own website catering to fans all around the World featuring Prints, Stickers, Postcards, Canvas Art and other art-related products.

Mads delved into the world of digital illustration during the early 2010s, a time when technology was rapidly changing the landscape of the art industry. Recognizing the potential of this emerging field, she decided to combine her artistic talents with cutting-edge technology.

Her talents of drawing characters digitally were the focus of Crystal Heroes a young design which has yet to find a Publisher. Mads worked without any real supervision and made it her place to understand the art that needed to be made in addition to improving her own creations making them mini-masterpieces (because the game features 2.5" x 2.5" Game Tiles). In addition, she made a beautiful box cover which was used for the current Prototype and we will be looking to make use of it considering the Nine (9) Year timeline for the fruition of this ambitious project. It is our hope to be able to work with this very talented young artist at some time in the future (when we do find a Publisher!)

In addition to illustrating one of our Board Games, Mads has since designed and illustrated her own adaptation of Guess Who? that she calls Guess the Character, ACOTAR Edition which allow readers enamoured with Novel Characters the opportunity to compete head-to-head to guess their favorite characters as illustrated by Mads.

We truly appreciate the time spent with Mads in helping to illustrate Crystal Heroes and we hope to have future opportunities to work together again!

Quest Adventure Cards™

Unleash your inner adventurer and dive into a world of challenges and heroic quests with Quest Adventure Cards™ - the tabletop card game that will transport you to realms of imagination and excitement.

Queet Adventure Cards In Quest Adventure Cards™, you will compete against your opponent to complete quests and score thirty (30) Victory Points before your opponent has the opportunity to do the same. The game allows players to collect quest fragments and play them into collections or quests. Only quests allow a player to score Victory Points meanwhile collections allow you to play cards from your hand to be used at a later time when a quest of the correct color is played on either side of the table. Melds allow players to play cards from their hands into play and this step is very similar to many cards games with similar mechanics.

Furthermore, the game can be played with up to four (4) players in an all-out versus mode or even a 2-Player vs. 2-Player cooperative mode which allows players to play in teams to beat their opponents to the fifty (50) Victory Points goal in order to win the game.

Quest Adventure Cards™ features comic-book-esque art drawn by Geof Isherwood, a former Marvel & D.C. Comics artist. Geof asked me for the style of art that we were wanting for this game and the end result was an amazing three (3) process art which combines pencil sketching, black inking and digital coloring. We agreed with Geof to use more black inking as a deliberate way to have more contrasting art, something that Geof felt would be appropriate for the game and its audience of players.

The Reboot of Quest Adventure Cards™ will be launched in Summer 2024 in a compact new format of seventy (70) cards allowing players to play from a common deck without any worries of requiring Deck-Building as being a component of the gaming process. As such the common deck allows players to enjoy the amazing art and streamlined gameplay without the need for off-line customization of the deck. A second (2nd) pack of cards is needed to be able to play with three (3) or four (4) players. And therefore, one pack of cards is sufficient for 2-Player games.

Dual Dice: Custom Specialty Dice

Gone are the days of mundane D6s, because Dual Dice are here to awaken your inner thrill-seeker.

Dual Dice: Model Ebony Whether you're embarking on a daring adventure or engaging in a passionate game of chance, these dice promise to elevate every moment to new heights of excitement. These multi-faceted marvels redefine the very essence of dice-rolling, making traditional standard D6s obsolete. Why? How? For the curious, these dice can be used as D2s (Two-sided dice), D3s (Three-sided dice) in addition to D6s (six-sided dice). While sure you can use coins or money for D2s, if you have a dice that does this already why not use it for it's purpose??? In additional, I mentioned D3s ... While not very prevalent, D3s are used in RPG system such as Advanced Dungeon and Dragons and Cthulhu RPGs. Obviously having a standard D6 (Normal six-sided dice) is also important because these dice symbolize the next standard in dice.

The "Dual Dice" Guidebook will be available to download soon (Q2 2025).

Note:  The inspiration for these unique and futuristic dice came to me one morning when I woke up from sleep. I can still remember the vivid dream about the dice and how I held them up and examined the various faces of the dice. That dream was so vivid and unforgettable that after awakening, I still remembers 100% how the dice looked like and what made them so unique. Indeed these are dice from another world or another place which have made it into reality over the last few years. We had a Kickstarter back in November 2021 which was unsuccessful because we didn't fully explain the advantages of these dice over traditional D6s and through a lot of hard-work and perseverance, the dice have been manufactured in a small quantities to be sold Globally.

Why should you buy them? Well if you want more functional dice, meaning dice that offer more than standard D6s ... These are the dice that should from now until forever be used instead. They are simply put D6s 2.0!

So surrender to the temptation, embrace the thrill of the roll, and let Dual Dice be your guide on a journey of exploration and possibility unlike any other.

Monster Keep — Collectible Card Game

Welcome to Monster Keep, the trading card game where strategy meets mythical might!.

At the present time, this game is in review... As such we are examining on how to make this game a reality in addition to being far more strategic and less predictable.

Currently Players are Masters of their Keep and are tasked with defending their Keep by summoning an array of powerful monsters. Each round brings new challenges and opportunities as you play your monsters into your Keep, fortifying your defenses and unleashing devastating attacks on your opponents. With a rich variety of creatures, each possessing unique abilities and attributes, every game of Monster Keep is a test of wits, strategy, and courage.

The focus on the game's "Combat Resolution" is a bit unclear at the moment. We want players to Battle however at the same time, we don't want Battles to be the primary focus of the game.

As such, we are tasked with re-working the game's internal format and the procedural phases of the game. Currently the mechanics are that players populate their Keep with monsters during three (3) different Rounds. Each Round is another Level of the Keep. Once all three (3) Levels are populated, the Final Round is currently the Resolution Round in which players face off against each other. We are unsure about this approach and have more to ponder with the monsters, abilities and method of play. This design is currently "up-in-the-air" as we seel to solidify the design.

More design is required and the current format explained here may not be the final one. As we review this design further, we hope to solidify the process and format such that the game offers more strategy and a more open approach to the game. An example of things in review are for example to Allow or Disallow multiples of the same monster to be in-play. This is just one of many fac to the game which need to be re-examined and perfected as the design evolves into a more interesting experience for the players.

If you are intrigued by this design, stay tuned for future information concerning the release of the next ruleset.
